Description
The North Side section of Pittsburgh as seen from the H.J. Heinz Company main plant. The building in the lower right foreground is the Sarah Heinz House, which was built in 1913 at a cost of $500,000. The Sarah Heinz House is equipped with a swimming pool, gymnasium, auditorium, workshops, clubrooms, and a roof court on the grounds next to the main plant. In the center of the photograph is the twenty-story Allegheny General Hospital, built in 1936 and located at 320 East North Avenue.
