Description
As the H.J. Heinz Company expanded following World War II, developing markets all over the world, additional facilities were needed to handle the increasing business. This Finished Goods Warehouse, completed in 1953 and adjacent to the Heinz main plant in Pittsburgh’s North Side neighborhood, extended for several city blocks between the Allegheny River and Route 28. The structure was designed by the architectural firm of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. It was built by the George A. Fuller Company.
