Description
The Board of Education Administration Building under construction in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood. Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation’s patented Junior I-beams, produced at its Aliquippa Works 14-inch mill, were used on the first floor of the structure. The building was designed by architects Ingham and Boyd, and the general contractor for this project was August Conradis. About 350 tons of Junior I-beams were used in this building. In the background of the photograph the Carnegie Institute is visible.
