  • Roland Gerry at the warehouse office of the Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation at Try Street and Third Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh. Roland Gerry, along with William C. Moreland, secretary of the company, bought a small share in the company in 1902. In 1908 a new eight-story building was completed at Third Avenue and Ross Street, and in 1917 four more stories were added to the structure. The old building at Try Street was razed when the new office building at Ross Street was occupied.
