Description
The Pressley Street Apartments, located on Pittsburgh’s North Side, opened in 1970 as a low-rent housing community for the elderly. The building contained 169 efficiency units, 90 one-bedroom units, and fifteen two-bedroom apartments for a total of 274 units. The building was constructed by the Mellon-Stuart Company under the guidance of architect Tasso Katselas. It was run by the City of Pittsburgh Housing Authority. Currently, Pressley Street Apartments offer 212 apartments for the elderly and physically challenged.
