The Bidwell Apartments, located at 1014 Sheffield Street in Pittsburgh’s Manchester neighborhood, opened in February 1970 as a high-rise community for the elderly. The Bidwell Apartment project was one of four elderly communities planned by the Pittsburgh Housing Authority during the 1970s.
