Description
A view of the North Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh from downtown Pittsburgh. In the left center background is Three Rivers Stadium in its initial stages of construction along with the Joseph Horne Warehouse being razed behind it. Construction of the stadium began on April 25, 1968, and it opened on July 16, 1970. In the center of the photograph is the Allegheny River with (from right to left) the Seventh Street Bridge, Sixth Street Bridge (Roberto Clemente Bridge), the Fort Duquesne Bridge, the Manchester Bridge, and the West End Bridge.
