Description
In June 1968 Westinghouse Electric Corporation announced the construction of a new 40,000-square-foot manufacturing plant on Washington Boulevard in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood. The 4.5 acre site, which would eventually employ 75 people from the local area, will manufacture electric personnel carriers (pictured here) for industrial use. Today, this facility is known as Homewood Sales Corporation, which provides complete units, components or parts, built to the original Westinghouse specifications.
