Description
View of Goat Hill looking southward from behind Center Avenue. The top level of Goat Hill was leveled to make way for Terrace Village II. The Terrace Hill federally subsidized public housing project was built during 1940-1941, on Goat Hill in Pittsburgh’s Hill District neighborhood. Terrace Village I and II were built on Ruch, Goat, and Gazzam Hills between Center and Fifth Avenues. Terrace Village II, on Goat and Gazzam Hills, housed over 1800 families.
