Description
The set of the Children’s Corner program, hosted by Josie Carey (seated). The Children’s Corner program was developed at WQED, the nation’s first community-sponsored educational television station. From 1954 to 1961 the show was a daily, live, hour-long show with music and puppets. Fred Rogers, who along with Josie Carey produced the show, served as the puppeteer, composer, and organist. In 1955, this television program won the Sylvania Award for the best locally produced children’s program in the United States.
