  • The site (center) was cleared for construction of the Bigelow Apartments on Bigelow Boulevard in downtown Pittsburgh before the redevelopment of the entire Lower Hill. The apartments, which were for some time a prestige address in the city, were completed in 1959 by Nathaniel P. Kann. They were subsequently sold, and are known today as the Ramada Plaza Suites & Conference Center.
