The Mesta Machine Company, located in West Homestead, Pennsylvania, was a industrial complex that included foundries, mechanical departments, and general office buildings. Access to the General Office buildings from the Pittsburgh metropolitan area and the residential neighborhood surrounding the plant was fairly easy. The Mesta Company provided a station along the Monongahela Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad, as well as an overhead bridge from the station and street to the third floor of the General Office Building, where the executive offices were located.
