Description
The original Happy Latins or “Laeti Latini” singing group comprised of nine South High School students made its debut in the late 1960s at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, during a Junior League “Hootenanny” event. The group performed at local colleges, the Buhl Planetarium, the Latin Festival, various banquets, television, and at South High School. From left to right in the first row are Valerie Kunz, Debbie Miller, Terri Pluto, Mary Ann Soo Hoo, Chris Landa, Denise Antosz, Sue Guckes, Pauline Look, Cheryl Pritchard, and Elaine Zakrzewski. In the second row from left to right are Robin Schmalstieg, Debbie Kochka, and John Garger. From left to right in the third row are Edward Tufexis and Wally Chin.
