Description
The double-deck, steel bowstring arch Fort Pitt Bridge opened to traffic on June 19, 1959. The total length of the bridge, including longest elevated ramp, is approximately 1217 feet with a deck height of 47.1 feet at the northern pier. The bridge crosses the Monongahela River and carries Interstate 279, US22, and US30 (Penn-Lincoln Highway West).
