Description
Members of the Pittsburgh public schools’ education and training program for veterans are learning the intricacies of refinishing furniture. The Pittsburgh Board of Public Education established a comprehensive education and training program for veterans in 1946, including both academic and vocational courses. By 1958, when much of the program had been discontinued, over 27,000 World War II and Korean ex-servicemen had taken courses offered by the program.
