Description
South Vocational High School, known in 2003 as South Vocational Technical High School and located at 930 Carson Street in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood, opened in 1940 with a class of 204 boys. At South Vocational, students had their pick of vocational training courses including automotive repair, cabinet making, aeronautics, and shoe repair. In 2003, the school was open to all City of Pittsburgh and Mount Oliver residents based on available space and racial balance.
