Description
Mrs. Nadezhda Alexandroxna Romanova, an exchange teacher from the former Soviet Union, instructs a foreign language class at Taylor Allderdice High School. The teacher, sponsored by the American Friends Association, spent several weeks at Taylor Allderdice under the USA-USSR Cultural Exchange agreement in the 1970s. The sentence on the blackboard translates to, “What kind of weather is it today?” Taylor Allderdice High School, erected in 1926, is located at the corner of Shady Avenue and Forward Street in the Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood.
