Description
McCandless School was named in honor of Judge McCandless, whose home was situated on the bank of the Allegheny River at the foot of McCandless Avenue. The school, located at 5250 Butler Street in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh, was built in 1881, closed and razed in June 1944.
