Description
Opened in 1930 as the largest and most modern trade school in the United States, the Clifford B. Connelley Vocational High School offered day and evening classes in many kinds of vocational training, including carpentry, plumbing, and automotive skills. Located on Bedford Avenue in the lower Hill District section of Pittsburgh, the school is now known as Connelly Technical Institute and Adult Education Center and continues to offer courses designed to prepare students for the modern workplace. Today, the school offers training in computer technology, medical skills, and basic language in addition to the traditional vocational courses.
