Description
Photo of path to Flaig's Lodge, Millvale, PA. Flaig's Lodge in was home to a gunmaking business that opened in 1935 and was run by brothers Edwin Flaig, Alfred Flaig and Charles Flaig in Ross Township, Allgheny County, PA. The lodge was located off Babcock Boulevard at Thompson Run Road. They were known for their custom made hunting rifles and shotguns. The lodge featured many landmarks including a stairway on the property made up of 115 millstone steps, a monogrammed chimney and over 12,000 evergreen trees on the property. Photo shows a path and stairway up a steep wooded hill to the log cabin lodge with a newer addition on the right at the top of the hillside The path has a wooden hand rail on the right hand side. Back of photo is hand labeled "Flaig's Hill early 1940s."
