  • A waiting steam locomotive is serviced by its engineer with oil can in hand. This was a familiar sight in the Pitcairn Yards in days gone by. Here P. A. Croft is oiling a majestic I-1 (old 4458) in its day the heaviest freight engine in service on the main line of the Pennsylvania Railroad between Pitcairn and Altoona.
