Description
Oakmonters mingle outside the newly opened Oaks Theater, perhaps waiting a bit before going in to the opening gala in November 1938. The first film to be shown at The Oaks Theater was Letter of Introduction, as advertised by the theater's marquee. The Oaks Theater, located at 310 Allegheny River Boulevard in Oakmont, is a gloriously refurbished 430-seat single-screen movie house, presenting the best in current, classic, and non-traditional cinema entertainment. The Oaks specializes in community-based event programming that preserves its long-standing history as a unique, public-oriented neighborhood theater venue. Photograph courtesy of the Oaks Theater.
