Description
What was once the Oakmont Station is now nothing but a large pile of dirt, rocks and wood. The bulldozers have, by the time this photo was taken, almost removed all traces of its existence. The station was located between Delaware and Maryland Avenues along Allegheny Avenue. The Pennsylvania Railroad conducted service out to Oakmont and into Pittsburgh until the late 1960s. After service was discontinued, it was demolished in June of 1970. Originally from the collection of Rita Young.
