  • Men join the women on stage. Along with the men comes a painted backdrop depicting trees, a grassy hillside and a rainbow. The positions of their mouths indicate that the group is singing, however the orchestra is not playing; this song may be a cappella. The show took place every year in Oakmont High School and continued to occur there even when the school became the Gilmore School, an elementary school, in 1961. The annual show was, and still is, immensely popular with Oakmonters and showcases local talent. They used to select a Lions Show Queen from among the participating high school girls; the crowning was one of the crowd's favorite aspects of the show. The Lions Club show currently takes place in the Tenth Street School's auditorium. Originally from the collection of Len Flowers.
