Description
The railroad tracks through Oakmont, high enough to avoid a dousing during the St. Patrick's Day Flood in 1936, served as a popular vantage point. The photographer clearly took this picture from that spot, since the tracks are partially visible. This photo is taken across the expanded river towards a billboard and a bridge. A couple of people are just visible on the left side of the bridge. Over 130 buildings were damaged in Oakmont alone by this flood.
