  • View of storefronts on Babcock Boulevard (currently Evergreen Road), facing south located in Shaler Township, Allegheny County, PA. Within the picture several signs can be seen including a sign for Rinscheid's Cigars, Coca-Cola, Tech Ice Cream, American Beauty Malt Extract, and Iron City Beer. There is also a sign advertising "Local and Long Distance Telephone" service that is covering half of a Cambell's Tomoato Soup sign. Also featured are various signs advertising different grocery products. A fire hydrant is seen in front of the smaller building on the right. A young boy wearing shorts and a cap is seen on the front steps leaning against the window of the Rinscheid's store. A man wearing a jacket and a hat is seen leaning against the front of the smaller store while an automobile is parked in front. On the side of the smaller building is a sign advertising the location as a "Green Cab Station." Klussman property is shown on the left and Eidemiller property on the right. Buildings still stand today at 1311 Evergreen Road. The cobblestone street is seen in front with rails for electric railcars (trolleys.) Rails are also seen in the dirt road to the right of the buildings. These rails were probably used for the "3 Millvale" trolley operated by Pittsburgh Railways that served Millvale until 1952.
