Description
Blast furnace at LTV Steel in Cleveland, Ohio. This Furnace had been drilled open and tapped, which is part of the casting process. The blast furnace reduces iron ore to iron, which collects at the bottom of the furnace. The extreme heat of the furnace acts as the reducing agent. An eight hour process usually turns 1700 tons of iron.
