Description
A group of children pose behind a table full of books, probably at the McKelvy School on Bedford Avenue in the Hill District. Several of the children are in costume, including one boy in a straw hat and blue jeans, another in a fur cap with a gun, a girl wearing a tiara and a dress covered with alphabet letters and holding a wand, and a boy in an exotic feathered outfit. The Wind in the Willows is the only recognizable book on the table. A painted backdrop reads Books Are Bridges and "World Fun [Inf]ormat[io]n." It has been suggested that the children participated in a performance encouraging families to read.""
