Description
Oliver Nelson (1932-1975) played Hard Bop, and Post-Bop jazz. His professional career as a musician began in 1947, with the Jeter-Pillars Orchestra. By the time he moved to Los Angeles in 1967 he was well known as a composer, and he began working in the Hollywood studios, writing for television and movies. Here he is seated holding a musical instrument shaped like an animal or monster. He is wearing a stripped jacket, a white turtle neck, dark pants, and a medallion. Clothing style dates to c. 1957-1967.
