Description
Wabash Building, downtown Pittsburgh, seen from the corner of Forth Avenue and Ferry Street. The Wabash Terminal was destroyed by a fire on March 22, 1946, and what remained was razed and cleared during the rebuilding of the Point. It was replaced by Gateway Center. An Amoco gas station sign can be seen in the upper right foreground, and rubble from a demolished building can be seen in the left background. Clothing, hair styles, and automobiles indicate that this image was taken ca.1940-1950.
