Description
Erie delegates in Washington D.C. when shooting occurred in the Capitol. On March 1, 1954 four Puerto Rican nationalists shot thirty rounds using automatic pistols from the balcony of the U.S. House of Representatives onto the floor of the chamber. The attackers began shooting at the 240 Representatives who were then debating an immigration bill. (UE Local 506 Erie plant chief steward David Kester on right).
