Description
Prior to 1890, the Benney Family was listed in the Allegheny City Directory residing at 78 Cedar Avenue. In 1890 the family took up residence in Emsworth, Pennsylvania. The following year the Benney Family moved to 4241 Fifth Avenue, near Craig Street in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood. In addition to taking photographs of these two ladies on the porch of the Benney residence in Emsworth, James Benney III also took photographs of churches, residences, and rural life in the Emsworth community.
