  • Description of the photograph reads, “At the beginning of the Century, Jones & Laughlins Ltd., which was also known as American Iron and Steel Works, occupied the building in the foreground at Try Street and Third Avenue. In 1908 the eight-story building in the background was completed at Third Avenue and Ross Street, and in 1917 four more stories were added to this office building. The ground floor of the old Try Street building was occupied by a warehouse. The old building was torn down when the new office building was occupied.”
