Description
Caption on the front of the photograph reads, “Dinky engine hauled buggy used in loading steel sometimes billets from the blooming mill to the heating furnace.” A dinky is a small steam engine locomotive. The brakeman, or hook-ons, on the dinky trains frequently had hands or fingers smashed between cars.
