Description
A view from Darragh Street in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood. In 1929 Montefiore Hospital moved from its Hill District location to Oakland. At that time, the hospital provided facilities and staff to treat illness, conduct research, teach, and lead the way in public health education and community service. The hospital also has focused time and effort in aiding Pittsburgh’s elderly population.
