Description on the back of the photograph reads, “The gay, light-hearted spirit of the Slovenian people is evident in the ‘Broom Dance.’ Here Ivan Babich, without a partner dances off with the broom.” The Duquesne University Tamburitzans, the longest-running multicultural song and dance company in the United States, is dedicated to the performance and preservation of the songs, music, and dances of Eastern Europe and neighboring countries.
