Description
Schenley High School, located at 4101 Bigelow Boulevard, was designed by architect Ed Stotz. The school opened for students on October 2, 1916, and was the first school built in the United States that cost over $1 million to construct. The Pittsburgh Board of Education named the school for its location in the Schenley Heights neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Today, the school offers programs and services that include the Centers for Advanced Studies, English as a Second Language, the Technological Studies magnet, the International Studies magnet, the International Baccalaureate Program, the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater Collaborative, and the Technology Honor Society Affiliation.
