Description
Founded in Pittsburgh's Hill District in 1916 to provide Jewish education to immigrant children, the Hebrew Institute moved to Squirrel Hill in 1944. Pictured left to right are Rabbi Dr. Seymour Cohen of the B'nai Israel Congregation, Rabbi Dr. Bernard Poupko of the Shaare Torah Congregation, and Hymen Rosenberg, the architect of the building on Forbes and Denniston Avenues, at a dinner.
