Description
William Flinn (1851-1924). Manchester-born Pittsburgh politician and businessman who held office on the board of fire commissioners, chairman of the Republican City Executive Committee of Pittsburgh. With partner James Booth, formed Booth-Flinn Ltd. in 1877 responsible for many public building contracts in the city of Pittsburgh and the United States. He was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1879 and 1881 and later served in the state Senate until 1902. An ardent supporter of Teddy Roosevelt, he eventually joined the "Bull Moose" Party.
