John B. discusses his family doing business in Wilmington and selling their farmed goods. Taking additional jobs in the city during his teen years. Traveling to Baden, NC and Richmond, VA before coming to Pennsylvania in 1917. Reflections on being a farm worker versus a factory worker, and his lack of ambition towards farming. Working at American Locomotive in Richmond for a brief period, before meeting a Mr. Nelson (assumedly Reverend Nelson) and being examined for work in Homestead.
