Description
Line drawing of Franklin Public School in the 7th and 8th Ward located on the corner of Franklin and Logan streets in the Hill District of Pittsburgh, Pa. The School opened in 1847 and was renamed in honor of Benjamin Franklin in 1869. It was constructed as a three story building with three large rooms measuring 60 feet by 37 feet each with attached classrooms measuring 24 feet by 14 feet. The school was renovated in 1890 but officially closed in 1939. The building was demolished in 1940.
