Description
Line drawing of the edifice for the First Methodist Protestant Church located on the corner of Aiken Avenue and Howe Street in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The church was constructed in 1892 and designed by Frederick J. Osterling with H.J. Heinz serving as the chair of the building committee, as he had been a longtime client of Osterling. Built in the Richardson Romanesque style with influences from English County churches, the building was occupied by the Methodist congregation until 1946. The building still stands at 821 S Aiken Avenue in Pittsburgh.
