Description
The Squirrel Hill Post Office was erected in 1938 with federal Treasury Department funds. Its design was described in newspapers as “Neo Grecian.” The cornerstone (behind the mailboxes) lists the Supervising architect as Louis A. Simon, Supervising Engineer as Neal A. Melick, Postmaster General as James A. Farley, and Federal Works Administrator as John M. Carmodoy. The building houses a New Deal mural in its lobby.
