Description
Park maintenance worker oiling the chain of a roller coaster in preparation for opening day. Original caption: "Erwin Vettel, the park's chief mechanic, inspects the drum winding mechanism of the Teddy Bear, a children's roller coaster. Vettel, 36 years in amusement park mechanism, contrasts today's strong structures with the flimsy affairs of yesteryear. Two barrels of oil are needed to put into operation the six miles of track of three giant coasters and two smaller ones for children."
