Description
View of Penn Avenue, looking northeast at the intersection with 16th Street. Near the entrance to the David McCullough Bridge (also known as the 16th Street Bridge). In view is the Saint Elizabeth Church. The building served the Slovak parish from 1908 until 1993, when the parish merged with St. Patrick and St. Stanislaus Kostka. In 2001 the building was bought and in 2002 became the dance club Sanctuary. In 2006 it then became the music venue The Altar Bar, which closed at the end of July, 2016. It has most recently been purchased by the Orchard Hill Church to be used as a place of worship.
