  • View of the Allegheny Square Plaza fountain, looking northeast. The space has been continuously occupied as a public and community space over the years. Originally Diamond Square and formerly Ober Park, the space became Allegheny Square Plaza during the renovation project of Allegheny Commons in the 1960s. It was again redesigned in 2011-2012 by the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh becoming Buhl Community Park. In view is the background is the Old Allegheny Post Office (1897) (now occupied as the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh since 1983), also known as the Old North Post Office.
