The caption (appearing in reverse on the image)reads "Nellie Galey and child Dorothy Caley in Galey Winton Pgh". Thomas Galey, identified the woman as Mary Mellon McClung on the negative's housing. The Mellon and Galey families were close friends. Thomas Mellon Galey's father named him after his childhood friend Thomas Mellon.
