  • An image of Gulf's Research Laboratory. The caption states: "The well head of our test well. The stuffing box is operated at 1200# pressure. The working barrel in front of the head-ache post is a pneumatic accumulator which smooths out all pressure surges due to the beam pump. It is supplied with natural gas from the pressure bottles at the rear."
