View looking east from the east end of the lower deck of Bridge No. 1 (Fort Wayne Railroad Bridge) of the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and Chicago Railway freight house yard, showing workers sitting on piles of railroad cross ties and other construction materials. The Duquesne Way Elevated Railroad Junction and the Fort Pitt Hotel are on the right. This is one of a series of photographs taken to document the raising of Bridge No. 1 (Fort Wayne Railroad Bridge) by the Eastern Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
