  • 1936 aerial view of Franklin Township (now Franklin Park Borough), Allegheny County, PA. Rochester Road cuts diagonally across image from upper left to right center. Included are the locally known "S Bends" as the road begins its descent into the Big Sewickley Creek Valley. In the ravine next to Rochester Road is the Rippling Run Branch of big Sewickley Creek. Locust Road runs left to right across bottom half of image with Wharrey Drive intersecting it from the south. The white area shown to the left of Wharrey Drive was a ballfield. Image faces north and shows the eastern half of image 53 of flight line 18.
